This beautiful ring was made using petrified wood stone. I did cut, shaped and polished this stone. I love the swirls of blues and browns. Almost scene like ocean in one stone! The stone was set into a fine silver bezel and a back plate made of .925 sterling silver.
The band is 2.5 mm wide and adjustable. The ring as seen in the picture is a size 6.5 US but can be slightly adjusted smaller or larger.
Gemstone healing properties: Petrified wood is known to promote balance and calmness, allowing the body to heal.
What is petrified wood? It is the name given to fossil wood where the replacement of the wood is by minerals such as silicate. The mineralized replacement is most often a quartz chalcedony. The colors and patterns you see in petrified wood come from the minerals that filled in the tree's cells. So you might see swirls of red, yellow, orange, blue, green, or other colors.
